Thanks goodness young children are less often diagnosed with MS. And thinking about the possibility of HSCT to cure MS in such young patients, I almost certainly would favor a non-myeloablative HSCT protocol due to the lower toxicity profile, but would still consider the treatment even if it were one of my young children.George Gosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17638152626591558770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197453140110938813.post-20465204582478134572012-09-05T05:37:35.918-07:002012-09-05T05:37:35.918-07:00Children experience similar MS symptoms to adults,...Children experience similar MS symptoms to adults, including motor symptoms and weakness, but children tend to have more relapses than adults. MS sometimes goes undiagnosed in children, due to the overlap of MS symptoms and the symptoms of other pediatric diseases.
http://www.whatismultiplesclerosis.in/tag/multiple-sclerosis-what-is-it/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01053465981915366504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197453140110938813.post-28045170119004583102012-08-12T02:30:41.355-07:002012-08-12T02:30:41.355-07:00Hi Goerge,

Damage that has been sustained over time along nerve pathways can be aggravated by stress, activity, fever, and heat exposure. All these factors contribute to MS related fatigue.
Linda ThomasAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197453140110938813.post-73449740253801220982012-01-02T07:36:30.989-08:002012-01-02T07:36:30.989-08:00George,
Hapy New Year and congratulations on you...George,

Hapy New Year and congratulations on your continued success! I speak for many when I say how much we look forward to your valuable contributions through your blog and other MS forums!

I am one of the "dozen or so" you have helped immeasurably in the application process to receive HSCT and I hope to receive treatment early in 2012. 2011 was unfortunately filled with multiple relapses and rapid deterioration and your words are so inspiring. Asher's description is perfect, you are indeed a game changer and thank you for all you do for us!KMGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16153089515427505729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197453140110938813.post-50105210328462584122012-01-01T14:05:34.484-08:002012-01-01T14:05:34.484-08:00Hi Christopher,
Thank you so much for your commen...Hi Christopher,

Thank you so much for your comments. I am so very glad to hear of your remarkable improvement in your health following HSCT. And of course I am also very happy to know that HSCT has enabled you to return to your profession as a pilot. I hope to be a passenger on your airplane some day!

Following HSCT the body just recovers and heals on its own. So I didn't do anything extra or special following my own HSCT other than to remain in generally good physical health. The main thing is to stop the underlying MS disease activity. After that the body will take care of itself.

Congratulations to you for having HSCT to cure you MS! All the best to you in this New Year.

GeorgeGeorge Gosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17638152626591558770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5197453140110938813.post-7577128680234681712012-01-01T13:41:53.027-08:002012-01-01T13:41:53.027-08:00Awesome George, disease halting and 50% improvemen...Awesome George, disease halting and 50% improvement!!! I was nearly at 7 on the EDSS-scale and were in need of a wheelchair. I went from 3 to 7 in just a month or so. I had to quit my job as an airline-pilot, but now I'm back thanks to this treatment. It's fantastic and for me it's very much a cure.

As I still have some symptoms left I'm very curious to what you might have done different (if anything) during the "rehab" period from your transplant up to this day (2 years later)?

Happy New Year and all the best from Sweden!Christopher Martinssonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01723778115852548036noreply@blogger.com
